چکیده
Objective: To determine the impact of body mass index (BMI) on short-term outcomes like; renal failure, prolonged ventilation and mortality after CABG surgery. Methodology: This prospective comparative study was conducted at Cardiac Surgery Department, Pervaiz Elahi Institute Cardiology, Bahawalpur from February to December 2021. A total 148 patients were enrolled taking written consent data collected through predesign proforma sheets, including; clinical history, investigation early in term (renal ventilation, mortality). SPSS 23 used analyze with statistically significant p-value < 0.05. Results: The findings showed that average age research participants 57.14 ± 3.07 (age range 30-73 years) 121 (81.76%) male compared 27(18.24%) female insignificant 0.730. In this found 5(6.76%) obese 8(10.81%) non-obese 0.070. Renal Failure 2 (2.70%) 8 (10.81%) 0.02 4(5.41%) 0.0482. Conclusion: results current demonstrated an BMI a reliable indicator morbidity or following CABG.

early outcome of coronary artery bypass grafting in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction
background: left ventricular dysfunction is one of the most powerful predictors of early and late outcomes in patients who undergo coronary artery bypass grafting (cabg). the aim of this study was to assess the early results of cabg that predict 30-day mortality and prolonged length of hospital stay (los) after cabg in patients with an ejection fraction (ef) of 30% or less. methods: seven hundr...
متن کاملConsequences of coronary artery bypass grafting in smokers and addicts
Introduction: The most common cardiac disease is coronary artery disease (CAD) in the world. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is implemented through two standard surgical techniques, namely off-pump beating-heart CABG (OPCABG) and on-pump CABG (ONCABG). The CABG results in various levels of morbidity, especially in smokers and addicts, who have a lower pain threshold. Regarding this, the ...
متن کاملTotally endoscopic coronary artery bypass grafting is feasible in morbidly obese patients.
Development of robotic technology has enabled totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass grafting (TECAB) procedures. With complete preservation of sternal and thoracic stability, this operation would be an interesting option for obese patients, who are known to be at higher risk for deep sternal wound infection. We describe a case of successful totally endoscopic left internal mammary artery to...
متن کاملIndividual-Social-Predictive Factors in Performing Daily Life Activities in Obese and Overweight Patients after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
Aims: Obese or overweight people are more likely to have complications after coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). Performing this surgery in these patients affects the patient's postoperative ability to perform Activity Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily living (IADL). The aim of this study was to determine the predictive factors for performing activities in overwei...
متن کاملShould obese patients undergo on- or off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting?
OBJECTIVES To determine if on- or off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) makes a difference to in-hospital mortality and long-term survival in obese patients. METHODS Analysis of consecutive patients on a validated prospective cardiac surgery database was performed for patients undergoing isolated CABG. Obesity was defined as a body mass index (BMI) >30 kg/m(2). Uni- and multivariate...
